Clark | Weitz | Clarkson (CWC) and Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate are pleased to add three Kansas City area-based firms to the KCI New Terminal Project team. Universal Construction Company, along with their partners at SE3 and SheDigs It, have been selected to execute the design and build of the logistics trailer complex, an 8.5-acre site that will house modular office trailers for subcontractors throughout the duration of the project.

Founded in 1931, Universal provides construction management services for commercial, institutional, and industrial building projects. The 4th-generation construction company specializes in schools, medical buildings, and correctional facilities. Headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas, the firm is also a certified women-owned business with the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

Based in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, SE3 is a professional services company that specializes in civil engineering within the fields of transportation and municipal engineering. Certified as a disadvantaged and minority business enterprise, SE3 provides services in eight offices across five states.

SheDigs It brings over 75 years of combined experience in excavation, utility, and plumbing work to the project team. A certified disadvantaged and women business enterprise, SheDigs It is headquartered in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Deep foundation work on the New Terminal is underway with the first piece of structural steel to be erected in the spring; the completed structure is scheduled to open in early 2023.
